Comparison of the advantages of magnesium and aluminum

Apr 30, 2020

1. The melting cost is only 2/3 of aluminum

2. Die casting production efficiency is 25% higher than aluminum, metal mold casting is 300-500K higher than aluminum, and lost foam casting is 200% higher than aluminum

3. The surface quality and appearance of magnesium castings are obviously better than aluminum (because the thermal load of the mold is reduced, the inspection frequency can be reduced)

4. The life of the mold is twice that of aluminum (or more, depending on the shape of the cavity)

5. The off-angle of magnesium can be very small (can cancel the subsequent machining), and the surface is well formed (because the viscosity of magnesium is low)
