Hasht Behesht Palace
is one of the historical buildings in Isfahan built during the rule of Safavids. It is the only palace, among all beautiful palaces and pergolas (kolah-farangih), left across the Chahar Bagh Street in this period.
The central part of the palace was built as four platforms; and its porch is on the north side. The ceiling above the four platforms are covered by colorful and well-designed plaster muqarnas. The rooms in the first floor have decorations of stucco and painting in every corner. In the second floor of the palace, there are some series of rooms and porches and arches and windows which add to its beauty. This floor is divided into several hallways and rooms that each have special decorations. In some of them, there is a water pool; and in some other, there is wall heaters. All the walls are covered by mirrors. All the roofs are covered by beautiful mosaics; and they are surrounded by corridors and very beautiful passageways. The important thing in this palace is the connection among different parts and places. This connection caused the palace to have the notable unity of decoration in spite of the diversity and multiplicity of the space.
